I didn't get a lanyard.....:(....
I was thinking of ending it all and hanging myself, but not by my lanyard....
I am a programmer and I can tell you that Gen Con programs out the distribution of these lanyards in a way that hasn't been done since the mid-90s. There are much easier and better ways to do this now and I can ensure everyone will be happy with the results. Should only take 5 minutes and no cost to them. Gen Con should reach out to me at (555) 776-4726 (PRO-GRAM) and I can solve all their problems for them.
Gotta love the (555) area code. Though now that I think about it, I think fictional numbers are supposed to be real area code, followed by 555-####. But yeah..
It seems rather surprising that the Gen Con store or Off World Designs are not selling deluxe Gen Con 50th anniversary lanyards. Seems like they missing out on a sure money maker.

The wallet and lanyard are different items. The wallet is fine for putting in lots of items however the weight pulling on your neck with the string can be uncomfortable. A lanyard is much more comfortable which is probably why the wallet was redesigned to be clipped to a lanyard. Other conventions have deluxe lanyards for sale, it seems strange that Gen Con is not taking advantage of the revenue opportunity. From my perspective deluxe lanyards would sell better than other items currently offered for sale.
I have the wallet-like badge holder which means my poor lanyard is going to languish, unused, much like some outlying hotels in Timbucktoo...
Muahahahaha
IF you have the 50 badge holder, you can easily switch out the string for the lanyard. The 50 badge holder comes with a short loop, remove the string and connect the lanyard to the loop. I use a D clip from the loop to the lanyard.

My first stop in the dealer hall is to buy a quality lanyard.
Come on guys,
If the snark doesn't return to this thread I'll have to do something drastic!
Will I be allowed in the exhibit hall if I use last years lanyard? If not would it be ok to roam the hamster tubes with it? It's not for me. I'm asking for a friend.
Is there a wait-list for lanyards? I mean, if someone doesn't pick up their lanyard, I should get one, right? It's not my fault I waited this long, there has never been a lanyard problem EVER before.
I heard they released more lanyards, but I got screwed because I tried to use the wishlist just like prereg, so I didn't get one of the new lanyards, either.
