Are we allowed to use A GenCon 2018 logo for poster/ads?

Not without permission. You'll need to email a full explanation of what you want to use and where to events@gencon.com and we'll put you in touch with Marketing to get approval.

(note: Gen Con is two words)

We can't use the logo without permission, but if we're running an event, can we mention Gen Con & the event time(s)?

It depends on the context - you can't represent something as "The Official Gen Con ____" or whatever, but saying "We'll be at Gen Con" or similar is probably fine, of course.

If you have any doubt at all, better to ask. Just email events@gencon.com an explanation of what you're hoping to do we'll get Marketing to approve or let you know what might need to be adjusted.
