I thought the Conrad hotel was skywalk connected

Hi all. Isn't the Conrad hotel still one of the skywalk connected ones? The hotel info page here in this site (https://www.gencon.com/attend/hotelmap) says 2 blocks and not "Skywalk" but things like the Downtown Indy Skywalk map as well as the VisitIndy connected hotels page shows it as being connected.

Granted, that hotel's skywalk route is a hike; I think there may be closer non-connected hotels.

Anyway, I was just seeing if anything changed. I haven't been out to Indianapolis since November, and I haven't been out to Circle Center Mall since the last Gen Con, so I don't know if that's different now.

it is connected, but it's usually faster to avoid the skywalk and cross on the street.

It also connects through an area that (a few years ago) wasn't open 24 hours a day.  Perhaps they are doing construction that is blocking it.

Yeah, it may be.

Also, listing the Conrad as connected is completely true, but for those unfamiliar with Indianapolis it sort of disguises the distance. It's still downtown, it's still connected to the mall and just a few blocks out, but folks would want to check out the Indy Skywalk maps (https://www.icclos.com/pdf/VisitIndy_Skywalks_0513.pdf or https://www.downtownindy.org/downloads/downtown-indy-skywalk-map.pdf) to really think about that over, say, the Hampton Inn, or Holiday Inn Express & Suites. If you have a ton of stuff in Lucas Oil Stadium, for example, you probably want the Holiday Inn over the Conrad.

The connectivity really is not a big deal in that case. As squirecam pointed out and I can confirm, it's literally faster to just walk outside from the Conrad than it is take the gerbil tubes :) . Again, people will see why when they look at Skywalk maps.

You can walk from on the Conrad through the Hyatt and but after hours I think you need your Hyatt key to get through the Hyatt so that wouldn’t work late at night.

I've stayed at the Omni in the past and technically its skywalk connected but you can make a quick dash across the street to the convention center or walk though 2 other hotels and the mall and eventually get to the convention center. So yeah there are connected hotels and 'connected' hotels.
