Game Design Academy Events
Game Design Academy events are live! Explore the catalog to plan your game design journey before event registration opens on May 18. Most Game Design Academy events will have “Game Design Academy - Gen Con LLC” listed in the Company /Gaming Group field. You can search for this phrase to find all of the curated events for the program.
In addition, there are lots of events we have identified around game design that are being hosted by other companies. You can find these along with the curated events as part of the Game Design Academy.
Any event with a “TRD” event type is only available to those with a Trade Day badge, and for the Student track of Game Design Academy.
The Explorer
Several curated TRD events will be repeated throughout Gen Con (Thursday–Sunday), alongside sessions hosted by other organizers.

The Student
We have a full day of events planned for Wednesday with an “Intro to Game Design” focus, along with daily assignments over the four days of Gen Con that will turn your experience into a game design lab!
Look for events with the “TRD” event type designation. There are other game design events in the Workshop (WKS) or Seminar (SEM) categories that are available to you as well.
You must register for events to track your eligibility for the Certificate of Completion. Trade Day badge will allow you to register for all TRD events. For information on Certification requirements, please visit the Student Track.
