Paper Tickets and changing events
Posted by dpuck1998

I think I know the answer, but hoping for a solution.  At this point if I have my paper tickets (shipped) in hand, I can't cancel and book a different event until the con starts?  I can't even double book myself and return them upon my arrival?  This really stinks if so, I'd like to make a change and now have to wait for weeks and likely miss out on an event that could sell out by then.

Sorry, just scrolled down for the answer on a previous post.  This is pretty ridiculous though, this really needs to be fixed.  2024 paper tickets non-refundable is idiotic.

Paper tickets are refundable, just not online. You can return them in person when you arrive at the show.

This is because a paper ticket retains its value, so once it's printed it's basically cash (that also guarantees you a seat at a specific event). It can be used at another event, so it can't simply be refunded without being turned back in.

If you don't want that restriction, you can register specifically and only for electronically ticketed events, which do provide that freedom.

A better question is, it's 2024 why are ALL tickets not electronic? I'm guessing its the same answer as to why the official app is a disaster.

Our development is ongoing, but also not every event organizer wants to use electronic tickets, either. Many of them have well-oiled and well-proven processes at their HQs that are built around paper tickets.

As electronic ticketing improves and we are able to widen the eligibility to participate, we expect more and more folks will want to make that transition, but ultimately that is something you will need to suggest to the individual event organizers.
