If you are interested in being a VIG in 2024 please email [email protected] between November 15 and December 15, 2023 to be entered into the drawing for a 2024 1. You must provide your name as it appears on your Gen Con account in the body of your email2. You must provide the email associated with that account in the body of your email.3. You must be 18 to enter.4. Do not send it multiple entries from other account you may have in the system.5. If your account is associated with a group or Organization please let us know (You cannot buy a badge unless that org is temporarily unhooked from your primary account)6. You must buy that VIG badge for yourself. VIG badges and packages are not tradeable or transferable. The Companion badge can be bought for anyone on your friends list.

VIGs have to be able to renew first, and that is at least a few weeks away.

11/2/24 is the date listed in the EO guidelines for general badge sales, presumably there's a bit of a grace period for existing VIGs to renew before their places get lotteried out again.

Existing VIGs have until January 30th to decide whether to renew, so I suspect that most notifications for new VIGs won't happen for a couple of more weeks.  But keep an eye out even after that, as there are sometimes a few stragglers, and thus some invitations to new VIGs even after the first emails go out.  Make sure that you have the VIG and Mike Boozer GenCon emails in your contact list so that the invitation doesn't go to your spam folder--this happened to me and I almost missed it!

IIRC, they will not contact you if you are not selected in the VIG lottery, only if you win a chance to buy a badge.

There is no specific date for the drawing, it is an ongoing process.If selected, you will be informed well before badge registration.You will only be informed if you are selected.
