Does registering for the packet pickup block your ability to register for other things in that same time block, or is it like the VIG Mixer, which historically hasn't blocked your schedule?  I assume to be safe I could just skip getting the packet pickup ticket, and just show up with the actual Orc Stomp ticket for packet pickup, but wanted to be sure.

As a follow up, it looks like there is a charge for picking up the packet. That's the first time I have seen a charge for packet pick up. Is this an error?

I contacted the organizers, and they are working to correct the charge for packet pickup, which Austicke correctly noted is an error.  They also confirmed that there is no need to actually sign up for the packet pickup, you just need your ticket to the actual event.  Here's what they sent me in email:

"It is not a setting I can control. You are correct in that it should not block anything, and usually, the event staff sets it correctly. Last year I had to ask them to change it.

That said, you do not need to have a ticket at all for packet pickup. It's in the system so people can have it on their schedule to remember to come. Certainly, you can ensure it's the lowest priority item and won't conflict with anything then.

That said... there is another problem this year. Packet pickup is marked as costing money. This is incorrect...

So DO NOT PAY FOR A Packet Pickup ticket. Just show up, anytime in the time window, and have your main Orc Stomp ticket with you to exchange for the bib and shirt, etc."
