Is it possible to change the dates of a current hotel reservation?
Posted by jaldarazy

I currently have a reservation for a hotel from 8/3-8/6 but would like to add 8/2. It looks like there is a waitlist option for 8/1 but it is blank/grayed out for 8/2.
Does that mean that I have no chance of getting a room on that date?

Thanks for any help/ insight!

The grey means unavailable, so at least for now, there's nothing you can do, at least at that hotel.

hmm, so do you think I should go ahead and book a different hotel? Or is it possible that the day could open up?

It depends on what's most important to you. So, if you have a downtown hotel, it might be worth it to you to look outside the housing block on normal channels for just the Wednesday night, sleep there for one night, and then go to you original hotel. If you don't care as much where you are, or if you are already needing to drive in, you can check for what's available with your new parameters and see if you like what's there. You can still modify your reservation (including the hotel where you will be staying) for free until July 17, and the modification doesn't happen until you agree to it, so you can click on "edit" for your current reservation to see what else is available.

Good luck!

Thank you! I appreciate the advice!

Just now, I checked on booking.com, and there is a room at the Tru by Hilton in downtown Indy for $211 (two queen beds) for Wednesday night. Most are more for downtown, but if you want to grab that (free cancellation), you might consider it!

If I order now, will I still be able to keep up?

That's great to hear! I'm glad you booked your spot! It should be a really valuable experience. Are there any specific sessions or speakers you’re looking forward to?

If 8/2 is grayed out with no waitlist option, it likely means no rooms are currently available, and the hotel isn’t accepting waitlist requests for that date. However, a little to the left cancellations could still create availability closer to the date. Contact the hotel directly to inquire, and keep checking the booking system regularly for updates.

It seems like the hotel might be fully booked for 8/2, which is why the waitlist option is grayed out. This typically means they are not currently accepting additional requests for that date, possibly due to high demand or limited availability. It really depends on your priorities. For example, if you're staying at a downtown hotel, it might make sense to book a different place for just Wednesday night and then return to your original hotel afterward. If location isn't a major concern, or if you'll already be driving in, you can explore other options that fit your new criteria and see what appeals to you. Remember, you can still modify your reservation (including your hotel choice) for free until July 17, and no changes will be made until you confirm them. Can anyone help me find List of Affordable Car Insurance Providers in the united States that covers both my car and rental car?
