A couple of weeks ago I decided to reinstall Win 10 on my laptop. I went online and found out that it is actually free? IS IT?! I got a copy from Microsoft's page and installed it on my laptop. Everything works fine and does not ask for an activation key. A couple of days ago I installed the same Windows 10 Pro on my PC and everything is fine and it is activated. Good! Now my girlfriend got a new laptop without an operating system and I wanted to install the same Win 10 Pro that I installed on my devices on the new machine. I installed it and she says that it is not activated. Why?! Why does it work on my devices and not activated on the new one?! I created a bootable USB again and installed it, but it is still not activated. What am I doing wrong? Free Windows or not? Is it something to do with the device or is it a software issue?
There are many ways to get around this, but I only use a proven activator that works on all versions of the system. When you decide to try and find out what is windows activation , download it only from trusted sites to avoid viruses and other unpleasant surprises. Just follow the instructions, and everything will go smoothly.
Without a key, Windows will work, but there will be limitations. For example, a message about the need for activation and the inability to change the theme or wallpaper. Many people use it this way if these limitations are not critical.
