Two Gencon Rookies looking for Dowtown Room

Just found out yesterday that my best friend and I will be attending Gencon for the first time this year!!  (our wives surprised us with a late gift :))

My badge is reserved and I'm keeping a wary eye on the housing portal, but would kill to stay downtown close to the con.

Willing to take over a reservation or split a room if you have space!  2 males,  mid 30's,  huge gamers (board and video).  Just gimme a shout!

Keep watching. Right now rooms drop like crazy. Refresh the housing portal a few times a day. Our group got nothing in the housing lottery and we just booked a room at the Home2 Suites with luck.

FYI, I just checked the Portal and there is a King Deluxe Suite at the Home2 Suites with a King bed and pull out sofa/mini kitchen for $205/night available from Wed-Monday if you are interested. The hotel is 6 blocks from the convention center.

We've actually got rooms booked at a hotel about 10 miles out, but thanks for the offer! Just looking to get within walking distance at this point :)

grrr,  was in a meeting and missed it!  Oh well.  Ridiculous that the people who pay me require me to work every now and then.  Thanks! for the heads up though!!

I've seem a few things pop up today including a king at the Omni and a Queen/Queen at the Alexander. Just keep trying.

Got a candlewood suites showing now  (2 miles away)  but no Home 2 suites.  Checked both Thur- Sunday  (which is what I want) and Wed - Mon  but no luck.  Wonder why its showing for you and not me?

Are you staying there?  The housing portal shows the room you currently have as available to you (and no one else), but it isn't at all obvious that that's what it's doing.

I believe they are staying there.  I bet that's exactly why they see it.  Weird little quirk, and good to know it does that.

Armadilloal- you are a genius. It is showing us our reservation then. 

p3ndrago0n- I apologize for the confusion and that is why I see it. I will keep looking for you though. And if it isn't "my" reservation that I am seeing, I will gladly post here.

Just wanted to let everyone know we just scored a room at the Crowne Plaza that popped up on the housing portal!!!
