Gen Con is an amazing place to discover new board games, but what are some of your favorite games that didn’t make a big splash at the convention? Whether it’s an underrated gem, an indie creation, or a classic that doesn’t get enough love, let’s share our top picks! Looking forward to discovering some hidden treasures.

Great question! One underrated gem I love is Obsession by Kayenta Games. It’s a fantastic blend of deck-building and worker placement set in Victorian England, where you manage an aristocratic estate and host prestigious events. It doesn’t always get the hype of bigger releases, but it’s a deeply satisfying and thematic experience. Another one is Rococo: Deluxe Edition—not exactly obscure, but it often gets overshadowed despite its elegant gameplay. What about you? Any hidden treasures you’d recommend?

I demoed Gems of Iridescia last Gen Con and Kickstarted it a couple months later. It's a simple to explain collect resources to by things worth victory points game. But the interactions between mechanics can get pretty deep.
