How to Join a Waitlist for a different hotel?

Currently I am booked a far distance away from GenCon.  I prefer to stay right next to the convention center.  Is there any way I can join a waitlist for hotels near the convention center?

There is no waitlist for hotels.  You would need to keep checking the online reservation system to find drops, which happens pretty regularly.

I must be blind, but I just can't find the online reservation system.  Is there a way to check it, when I already have  reservation booked at a different hotel?
