GM Name

Is there a way to get the GM name from a game, when it is not listed on the website listing for the event?  I forgot to get the name of a GM from a particular event.

You might see if there's a contact for the gaming group, if so they may be able to put you in touch with the GM.

A complete list of the events can be found here.

I wish it was required to have the GM name in the slot as it would make it easier to avoid bad GM's.  I easily had one of the worst experiences in a D&D game ever and will never play in the GM's games again.

Some companies don't know who's going to GM a slot until at the con or right before, so they don't include the names.

Sorry to hear it Dave...I have also had some bad experiences...I also have great experiences where I forget to get the GM name.
I always want to send follow up thank you's to GM's and gaming groups who do good work...it is hard work, that is for sure.

Gencon is NOT the place to "tryout" your hand at being a GM.  Also, please KNOW the rules of the game you are GM'ing.

Positive sidenote:  I had a BLAST in the 3 Dungeon Crawl Classics games run by Goodman games this year.  Well run, GREAT GM's, fun players at the table, etc.

good point...makes you wonder though why individuals who run games on their own don't put their names???

Sometimes it's a larger organization that depends on volunteers to run their events,  and they might not know who will be assigned to the slot until the convention.

Awww, maybe this calls for a "Gen Con Missed Encounters" thread. :-D I played with a lot of people I'd love to get to know, but the hustle and bustle sent us in different directions. I hope you find your good GM.
