Thing is I've been a forum mod. on several other sites. And they all had a report post feature for spammers or offensive post. All they did was 2 things.

1. Send an email to the mods for that particular forum section, informing them of the reported post.

2. When a mod logged in, sent them an in forum private message of the reported post so the mod could go directly to the post and assess the post themselves.

It would make it a lot easier on mods to have the feature as I'm sure you don't need to sit for hours during peak forum activity reading endless post, just target the forum rule breakers and move on. Believe it or not, most forum members are actually really good at monitoring and reporting forum rule breakers.
