Gen Con, the largest tabletop gaming convention in America, is looking for Seattle-based hosts for a weekly, roundtable discussion web series, TableTakes.
TableTakes is an hour-long Twitch show, focused on providing the latest tabletop gaming news with discussion. Hosts will need to be available every Friday from 1 pm to 3:30 pm, and the show streams live on Twitch beginning at 2 pm. Examples of previous episodes are available on YouTube.
Hosts are expected to help research topics and headlines for the weekly agenda before each show, and will meet to review that week's agenda and prepare any special guests one hour before the show.
Currently the show is being broadcast remotely, and hosts will need to provide their own camera/microphone setup. Once we are able to resume in-studio operations (when it is safe to do so), hosts will need to be available and on location at the West Seattle streaming studio.
We are specifically seeking BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color) hosts for this role. Previous experience in livestreaming and strong tabletop gaming knowledge are highly desired, but not required.
This is a temporary contract with the option to renew quarterly. Preference for a host who is open to renewing a contract on an ongoing basis. We are also interested in expanding our list of available guest hosts for this and other Gen Con shows, if you are unable to make a regular commitment, please consider applying anyway.
